The Look: This might, currently, be my favorite pair. Champagne, as a color, always catches my eye and this pair shifts into gold with the right light. A nice platform with a 4.5 inch heel that I’ve just learned is a ‘chunky heel’, neither a stiletto nor a block. The heel cup has an elegance of a pump while the decorative straps make a beautiful sandal.
The Fit: Oh, if only it came in a C (W) width! The size 7 is just a bit longer than I like, but the width is perfect or even a little generous in places. Something in the design gives my foot a tendency to try to slide toward the middle and this results in a more obvious bunion than most shoes.
Comfort: Having a little too much room in the heel cup might be a problem with long periods of wearing and especially if there’s a lot of walking involved. The chunky heel gives additional stability and the platform counteracts an inch of the heel. The practical height is only about 3.5 inches. Good for dates, even with dancing, classy enough for formal occasions and comfortable enough for anything else you might want to do.
