The Look: I think I mentioned before that the peep-toe design isn’t a favorite, but here’s another pair where it seems to work. The pleated toe box doesn’t quite have the same effect as on the Rebecca design by the same manufacturer; the material used doesn’t really have a fabric enough look to carry it off. Because of the pewter color, you don’t really expect it to look like fabric though. A dip in the front does show some cleavage as well. The rest of the shoe is a nice pump with a relatively low heel, but still very formal looking.
The Fit: Available in a C(W) width, no half-sizing is required and that will get my attention even on a design I only kind of like. The heel isn’t quite as tight as I like to see in a pump, however, and I’m a bit concerned that it won’t take long until the foot starts coming out at the back when walking.
Comfort: The toe box, while a little snug in the barely worn shoe, should expand enough when properly broken in for all day wear. It might be a little shiny for some offices, but with the right suit should work wonderfully. Need a little air? Pumps are great to slide off under the desk….
